01 / The context

The problem behind the project.

Accounting firms have the underlying numbers, but reviewing them can mean repeated exports, spreadsheet assembly, and reconciliation. Financial Dashboard turns STAR financial history into a navigable workspace for the people responsible for clients, teams, offices, and the firm as a whole.

02 / The contribution

How I approached it.

1. Brought WIP, net billings, collections, and AR into one environment with budget, current-year, prior-year, period-to-date, and year-to-date context.
2. Pre-compiled financial views and preserved frozen periods, so later review returns to the selected historical picture instead of silently rebuilding it from changed data.
3. Made navigation reflect the firm's organization: hierarchies, roles, and custom fields provide different lenses on the same numbers.
4. Changed the lower reporting pane with the selected context—ranked views at broad levels, client and engagement detail where ranking no longer makes sense. Presentation values arrive with server-owned formatting and meaning.

03 / The result

What the work made possible.

A financial operating layer that supports both broad review and detailed investigation. The product descends from the first financial dashboard delivered in 2011, with the current architecture turning that reporting experience into reusable infrastructure for firms using STAR.
