Evidence before confidence.
Run the comparison. Keep the discrepancy. Make the system explain where its answer came from.
About / Amine Fayad
I’ve spent my career making complicated systems understandable—and taking responsibility for what happens next.

The person behind the work
A database nobody documented. An application that outgrew its original tool. A process that works because a few people remember every exception. That is often where my work begins.
I work across requirements, data modeling, architecture, development, deployment, and long-term support. On many engagements I have been the sole technical resource; on larger programs, I have led specialists while retaining the architecture and delivery responsibility.
The through-line is not a particular framework. It is making the business rules explicit enough that someone else can understand, verify, and maintain the result.
A few things I believe
“The schema is the specification, and the generated system is the deliverable.”
Run the comparison. Keep the discrepancy. Make the system explain where its answer came from.
The handover, the upgrade, and the unexpected production problem are part of the work—not afterthoughts.
A simpler design that survives is more valuable than a clever one that nobody can safely change.
Consulting began with package migrations and application development—the foundation for a career centered on data and system boundaries.
Founded Encapsulated Solutions, carrying architecture, development, commercial responsibility, and long-term support. The practice paused during a subsequent full-time employment chapter before independent delivery resumed.
A first Financial Dashboard began an eleven-year relationship as a national accounting practice’s inside technology vendor, working directly with its CIO. The work continued through the successor engagement in 2023.
A decade-long senior-developer subcontract brought healthcare, life-safety, and legal-marketing systems alongside the accounting work.
Led a seven-person Tax Dashboard implementation—four core contributors and three specialists—over six weeks, retaining architecture and technical delivery responsibility.
Co-founded Encapsulated, Inc. with the former CIO from that long-running relationship. Client Onboarding, Financial Dashboard, Tax Dashboard, and SQLX carry the product architecture; Encapsulated Solutions remains the services practice.

I host the monthly STAR SQL special-interest group for accounting-firm technologists and SQL developers. The sessions center on working systems, practical tradeoffs, and the T-SQL behind them—including the experiments that did not survive.
